Dr. Deanna Minkler, DC, MS ACP, CCSP, cVSMT, CHt
A licensed chiropractor since 1997 and a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, Dr. Deanna Minkler specializes in sports rehabilitation and pediatric chiropractic. To assist athletes recovery from injuries at a quicker pace, Minkler has become certified in Kinesiotaping, the treatment of muscular disorders and lymphedema reduction, and the Graston Technique, which treats acute and chronic soft tissue injuries.
Dr. Minkler's practice also includes prenatal care. She is a certified HypnoBirthing Instructor and Labor Companion in addition to being a HypnoFertility Therapist and trained as a doula. She excels in hypnotherapy and acupuncture, which she has been practicing since 1996.
A Chicago resident since 1995, Dr. Minkler has a Doctorate of Chiropractic and Master of Science in Advanced Clinical Practice from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from Bradley University in Peoria, IL.
“Becoming a successful chiropractor has been my ambition since I was nine years old,” states Dr. Minkler. “Being a part of a person’s transition from discomfort and impaired movement to pain free mobility is my greatest reward. My profession is challenging and stimulating and it inspires me every day!”
Dr. Deanna also serves as Vice President of the Sauganash Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Board of Directors for Edgebrook Chamber.
Rachel M. Shaffer, LMT
Rachel Shaffer is a licensed and certified massage therapist who has been in practice since 2000. Shaffer has become an expert in deep tissue, cranial sacral therapy, sports massage and post mastectomy work. She also excels at prenatal and geriatric therapy.
Shaffer is an Illinois native. Having grown up in Elmhurst, she currently resides in Woodridge with her husband and young sons. Shaffer has an innate desire to help people live a pain-free and healthy life. This compassion led her to become a massage therapist, a career that truly makes her happy in life.
Specialties include CranioSacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Lymphatic Drainage, Breast Health Massage, Mercier Therapy, Tok Sen, Cupping.
Kimberly “Kim” Head, LMT
Kim studied massage therapy at College of Lake County, IL, and came to Sauganash Wellness Center after she graduated in 2010. “Everyone here is amazing and brings something different to the table.” She excels in massage techniques to relax the back, neck, head and feet. “I love working with people to help figure out where their pain is coming from.” Kim grew up in Lake Villa, IL, and still calls it home. She enjoys art, comic books, cartoons, tattoos, costumes, the gym and power lifting.

Kevin Cronin, LMT, CSI, NCBTMB
Kevin attended the Chicago College of Healing Arts and has been working as a licensed massage therapist since 1999. “I spent a lot of time getting fixed myself. It works, so I thought I should give back.” As a Certified Structural Integrator (CSI), his specialties include structural integration and craniosacral therapy. A Chicago area native, Kevin is passionate about improving the mind/body balance through martial arts and yoga and is particularly good at “easing restricted movement patterns.” He joined the Sauganash Wellness Center team in 2013.

Emily Klik, LMT
New to Sauganash Wellness Center this year, Chicago native Emiliy now lives in Evanston: "I love the culture of Chicago and Evanston. I don’t see myself living anywhere else!" She graduated from St. Ignatius, was a chemistry major at Universiy of Illinois–Chicago and attended the Chicago National College of Naprapathy, Upledger Institute and the European Massage Therapy School. Specializing in craniosacral therapy since 2002, Emily addresses headaches, migraines, sinus issues, TMJ issues and more. "My favorite issue to release is head pain, usually in just minutes. I can also decrease the effects of stress and anxiety, to aid in rest and recovery. Bottom line, I help my clients feel better in their bodies." In addition to her work, Emily loves cats and hosts weekly meditative gatherings, She also volunteers with therapy offerings at her husband’s gong meditations. "I look forward to working with you in healing and helping you feel BETTER in your body!"
