Founded in 2006, Sauganash Wellness Center brings together a group of highly skilled doctors and practitioners to address your health and wellness needs.

Dr. Deanna Minkler, D.C., CCSP, CHt
A licensed Chiropratic for more than 13 years and a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, Dr. Deanna Minkler specializes in sports rehabilitation and pediatric chiropractic. To assist athletes recover from injuries at a quicker pace, Minkler has become certified in Kinesiotaping, the treatment of muscular disorders and lymphedema reduction, and the Graston Technique, which treats acute and chronic soft tissue injuries.

Dr. Minkler recently expanded her practice to include prenatal care. She is a certified HypnoBirthing Instructor and Labor Companion in addition to being a HypnoFertility Therapist and a doula. She also excels in hypnotherapy and acupuncture.

A Chicago resident for 14 years, Minkler has a Doctorate of Chiropractic and a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from Bradley University in Peoria, IL.

“Becoming a successful chiropractor has been my ambition since I was nine years old,” states Dr. Minkler. “Being a part of a person’s transition from discomfort and impaired movement to pain free mobility is my greatest reward. My profession is challenging and stimulating and it inspires me every day!”

Dr. Deanna also volunteers as a member of the Board of Directors for Edgebrook Chamber and the Board of Directors for Lincolnwood Chamber.

Rachel M. Shaffer, LMT
Rachel Shaffer is a licensed and certified massage therapist who has been in practice for more than 10 years. Specializing in assisting professional athletes, Shaffer has become an expert in deep tissue and sports massage. She also excels at prenatal and geriatric therapy.

Shaffer is an Illinois native. Having grown up in Elmhurst, she currently resides in Woodridge with her husband and one-year-old son. Shaffer has an innate desire to help people live a pain-free and healthy life. This compassion led her to become a massage therapist, a career that truly makes her happy in life.

Chelsea Sullivan, LMT
Chelsea is a 2007 graduate of the SOMA Institute for Massage Therapy. She performs Swedish massage, hydrotherapy, sports massage and chair massage. Originally from California, Chelsea resides in Oak Park, IL. Her main desire is to help alleviate discomfort and relax people.

Karen Delmonico, Reiki Master
Karen will be providing Reiki treatments for new and current clients.

Sarah Lashley, LMT
Sarah is a 2008 graduate of Cortiva Institute–Chicago School of Massage Therapy. She is a member of the AMTA and is certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She is excited about her new career in massage and feels she has been given the gift of healing touch. Trigger point therapy, myofacial release and stretching techniques equip her with great skills for clinical massage.

Previously, Sarah worked in the education industry and continues to use her skills to educate people about their bodies and how better to care for themselves. She most enjoys helping each client connect with their body to help them heal themselves. Also with a background in Christian ministry, Sarah brings a wholeness to her massage honoring body, mind and spirit.

Currently, Sarah lives in Rogers Park with her husband. She enjoys connecting with her church and community, as well as traveling overseas. Both feed her love for learning about new cultures.

Tom Patzelt, LMT
A 2005 graduate of The Soma Institute: The National School of Clinical Massage Therapy and member of the AMTA, Tom is certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. He enjoys helping people find relief from nagging pain and discomfort.

With a combination of myofascial work, triggerpoint therapy, deep tissue and overall wellness, Tom is also trained to address specific conditions like carpal tunnel, piriformis syndrome, shin splints, chronic muscular tension, circulatory problems, muscle strains, whiplash, stress and fibromyalgia.

A native Chicagoan, Tom really enjoys providing people with the opportunity to get their lives back from endless hours of pain and discomfort associated with those conditions!
